How it works & privacy
Motion and tilt move the water and choose from a collection of written quips. There’s no camera, microphone, account or AI service. This page does not record or upload sensor readings. Your browser provides the device voices; some may use an online service. The optional recorded George voice downloads from this site and plays locally. Its normal and underwater speech use the same recording, with the underwater sound filtered on your device.
Device voices cannot be filtered by this page. They keep their normal sound with a little bubble accompaniment underwater. Choose “George · recorded, underwater ready” for muffled, gently warbling speech throughout the experiment. Changing voice is always your choice.
Commentary and animation pause when you leave the page or lock the screen. A fresh, stable pose is needed on return; unfinished remarks are discarded. A downward-facing screen could mean you’re reclining or have put the phone down: the jokes are playful guesses.
The water is a small surface-wave simulation: it deforms, sloshes and settles, but does not model individual droplets or breaking waves. When tipped over, the bowl empties into a playful underwater view. Returning upright drains that view and discreetly refills the bowl.
If motion isn’t available, try opening this page directly in Safari or Chrome. The sample, touch and tilt controls work without sensor permission. “Preview underwater” demonstrates the transition after Start. There’s no need to shake hard or drop your phone. Reduced-motion settings calm waves, bubbles and transitions.
