On our 2nd wedding anniversary we decided to go to Thailand, a few days in Bangkok before heading off to Chiang Mai, Phuket and Krabi.  We landed on Sunday at 6.00am and thankfully the room was ready at the Mandarin Oriental, our stay in Bangkok coincided with the new year festival of Songkran – where everyone throws water over each other (well fires it from water rifles the likes I’ve never seen before).

Much of Bangkok closes down due to this and despite the fact many locals move out of the city for their break the festival makes certain areas impossible to get to easily.  Still we had a fantastic time and here are a few of the pictures.
